U-Haul Dealer Tom Scott Announces Candidacy for Public Office

Tom Scott (left) accepts his Top 100 award from U-Haul AFM Matt Garger in 2009. Scott, a local businessman and U-Haul neighborhood dealer, has officially thrown his hat in the ring for Clearfield (Pa.) County Commissioner.

CLEARFIELD, PA. – Tom Scott, a local businessman and U-Haul neighborhood dealer, has officially thrown his hat in the ring for Clearfield County Commissioner. He will vie for a slot in the November election through the Democratic primary.

Scott was born, raised and lived his entire life in Clearfield County. Currently, he and his wife, Mari Lynn Martini Scott, reside in the DuBois area. He has been self-employed his entire adult life.

He was involved in the day-to-day operation of the former Herb and Tom Gateway Markets, which had locations in Clearfield, DuBois, Kylertown and Ridgway.

He is the owner of Gateway Enterprises, which consists of Gateway Auto Sales, Gateway U-Haul and rental real estate properties.
