Turkey Tuesday

U-Haul donated $1,500 to St. Vincent de Paul’s Turkey Tuesday fundraising effort.

U-Haul Executive Vice President Stuart Shoen presented St. Vincent de Paul with a donation of $1,500 for its annual Turkey Tuesday fundraising event before Thanksgiving.

St. Vincent de Paul is one of U-Haul Company’s longstanding charitable partners in Arizona, addressing the basic human needs of food, clothing and shelter for those in need.

Shoen presented the check Nov. 24 during a televised segment on NBC 12 News at the Basha’s grocery on S. Gilbert Road in Chandler.

“We’ve been in business for 70 years, but we’ve been in Phoenix for (nearly) 50, so a lot of people don’t know we’re a local company,” Shoen told the reporter.

“We’re very proud to partner with St. Vincent de Paul today for $1,500.”

An oversized check wasn’t the only token of goodwill U-Haul was handing out this Thanksgiving. To read about the Company’s donation of 600 turkeys to St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance on behalf of U-Haul Team Members, click here.
