U-Haul Company of West Houston is offering 30 days of free self-storage to Texas residents who were affected by the multiple tornadoes that touched down early this week.
Twisters plowed through the Fort Bend community early Tuesday. A powerful line of storms swept through the Greater Houston region and ultimately produced multiple tornadoes, including the F2 tornado that impacted Fort Bend.
“We want to make sure our community is safe and has the help it needs,” said Matt Merrill, U-Haul Company of West Houston president. “Our neighbors need a secure place to store their possessions while they try to recover. We are happy to offer our disaster-relief services.”
The U-Haul locations participating in the 30 days of free self-storage are listed below. Families needing more information about the self-storage assistance program should contact their nearest U-Haul store.

U-Haul stores have much-needed supplies available to help with storm recovery, such as boxes, tarps, propane and propane tanks. U-Haul urges customers to stop in to ensure that their propane tanks are topped off, since propane is good to have in the event of long-term power outages.
U-Haul is the industry leader in do-it-yourself moving and self-storage, with more than 21,000 locations across the U.S. and Canada. In addition to its 30 days’ free self-storage assistance, U-Haul, as an official American Red Cross disaster responder, is proud to be at the forefront of aiding communities in time of need.
