Five U-Haul Companies across three Gulf Coast states are proactively offering 30 days of free self-storage to residents who stand to be impacted by Tropical Storm Nate.
Nate may deliver flooding and additional damage as it strikes the Gulf Coast this weekend. The storm has prompted thousands of people to commence preparations, which creates a need for safe, secure and dry self-storage where possessions can be stowed as Nate approaches – and in its aftermath.
“The tides are on the rise and we’re expecting that to continue over the weekend,” said Pat Allen, U-Haul Company of Southern Louisiana. “Our neighbors can prepare for this storm by taking advantage of our free self-storage disaster relief program.”
U-Haul stores offer needed supplies to help with storm recovery like boxes, tarps, propane and propane tanks. U-Haul urges customers to ensure their tanks are topped off since propane is good to have in the event of long-term power outages.
U-Haul is the industry leader in do-it-yourself moving and self-storage with more than 21,000 locations across the U.S. and Canada. In addition to its 30 days free self-storage disaster relief program, U-Haul is proud to be at the forefront of aiding communities in times of need as an official American Red Cross Disaster Responder.
The U-Haul Companies of Mississippi, Southern Louisiana, South Alabama, Central Alabama and Northern Alabama have made 36 self-storage facilities across 23 cities available to provide assistance.
