Midtown Farmers Market Returns to U-Haul Campus in Phoenix

Feb 8, 2019

Dates set for February, March and April events with 50-plus vendors serving Midtown patrons on their lunch breaks

U-Haul International invites the public and neighboring Phoenix businesses to the monthly Midtown Farmers Market, now in its second year of offering a vibrant shopping setting while supporting Arizona’s farmers and entrepreneurs.

Dates and times are posted for the February, March and April events.

More than 50 local vendors will be stationed on the U-Haul Midtown Campus along Roanoke Avenue, just east of Central Avenue. Vendors will feature sizzling lunch specials, fresh produce, handcrafted sauces, Arizona-made goods and much more.

U-Haul® organized the farmers market in 2018 after recognizing that Midtown Phoenix lacked such an event. The farmers market aligns with the Company’s endorsement of healthy living and sustainable practices.

“The Midtown Farmers Market hosted by U-Haul has returned for its second year, and we are happy to welcome our neighbors in the name of local food and healthy living,” stated Monique Wantland, U-Haul wellness program manager. “It offers people the luxury of completing their weekly grocery shopping on their lunch breaks.”

  • WHAT: Midtown Farmers Market hosted by U-Haul
  • WHERE: 2727 Central Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85004
  • TIME: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • DATES: Feb. 12, March 19 and April 16
  • PARKING: Paid lot 85 E. Thomas Road Parking, behind Panera Bread

City of Phoenix police officers will attend the Feb. 12 event to offer information on the Bicycle Registration Program, bicycle safety and laws of the road.

“The Bike ID event at the Midtown Farmers Market is in anticipating of the City of Phoenix’s Bike to Work Day of April 17,” Wantland noted. “U-Haul Team Members will be joining the City of Phoenix staff on April 17 for a bike ride and breakfast to commemorate Bike to Work Day, which promotes physical fitness.”

U-Haul charity partners St. Vincent de Paul, Andre House and St. Mary’s Food Bank will benefit from the upcoming Midtown Farmers Markets. A portion of the proceeds from each event go to that month’s charity partner. Information on the nonprofit receiving help will be available.
