U-Haul Expands 30 Days Free Self-Storage Offer as Ottawa River Continues to Flood

Apr 29, 2019

U-Haul Company of Western Quebec is now offering 30 days of free self-storage to Ottawa residents who have been impacted by significant flooding.

The overflowing Ottawa River has reached record-breaking water levels and floods are expected to peak tomorrow or Wednesday. Many homes have taken on water, creating an immediate need for secure and dry self-storage lockers where families can bring their belongings.

“Flooding continues to be a major problem in this region, and things only got worse over the weekend with the number of homes and residents impacted,” said Claude Boucher, U-Haul Company of Western Quebec president. “We want people to know that we are here to offer free assistance if they need it.”

On April 19, U-Haul Company of Western Quebec extended the same disaster relief offer at facilities in Boisbriand, Gatineau and Laval. Find that press release here.
