Tracey Higgs sought out new opportunities and exciting adventures after moving from the U.K. to Canada, leading to a successful U-Haul career.
So when the Company recently created District 32, Higgs decided the next phase of her next journey would be as a U-Haul Area District Vice President.
Like many Team Members, Higgs started with U-Haul as a customer service representative. In February 2005, she began as a moonlighter and soon became full-time at U-Haul Moving and Storage of Dartmouth in Nova Scotia.
It wasn’t long before she was elevated to assistant general manager, and then GM, of the same location. Her hard work and dedication paid off in 2015 when Higgs became marketing company president of U-Haul Company of Atlantic Canada (Co. 843), the position she held until her most recent promotion.
“I am very excited to assume the role of ADVP, as we have unlimited potential in District 32,” Higgs said. “Our focus is adding new U-Haul stores throughout the district and growing the U-Haul dealer network in the region. Opening new locations will allow the District 32 team to provide exceptional customer service in markets that currently are not being served, or are underserved.”
U-Haul Executive Vice President Brandon Blaskowski affirmed Higgs’ goals, noting that her knowledge and familiarity with the area makes her the perfect choice for the role.
“Tracey brings more than 17 years of U-Haul experience to her new position,” Blaskowski said. “Leading Co. 843 was no small task, as this region of Atlantic Canada is made up of the Maritime Provinces. Tracey understands what it takes to encourage and support her team. She did just that as MCP of Co. 843 by surrounding herself with a great group. Under Tracey’s leadership as ADVP of District 32, our customers will be provided with the best products and services in eastern Canada.”
Added Higgs: “I have a great team that I know will strive to provide exceptional customer service and grow our district. I look forward to what we will accomplish.”
