A total of 29 U-Haul® centers, including 18 across Kentucky, are offering 30 days of free self-storage and U-Box® container usage to residents impacted by severe flooding in recent days.
The U-Haul disaster relief program is also available to anyone in need at nine stores in northern Middle Tennessee and two in southern Indiana.
A massive winter weather front generated tragic and intense flash flooding over the weekend, with countless homes sustaining water damage and numerous communities left with power outages and impassible roads. Kentucky declared a state of emergency.
Access to dry and secure self-storage rooms and portable storage containers is critical for communities during the recovery process.
The 30 days goodwill offer applies to new self-storage and U-Box rentals and is based on availability at participating U-Haul-owned and -operated locations. The free U-Box option is for on-site storage at centers or self-delivery (there is a charge for U-Haul to deliver to residential addresses).
Please reference the list of cities below with participating stores and contact your nearest U-Haul regional office to arrange free storage services.
