U-Haul® Company of West Texas has made its two centers in Amarillo and its center in Lubbock available to provide 30 days of free self-storage and U-Box® container usage to residents impacted by the windstorms causing damage and power outages across the Panhandle while also heightening wildfire conditions.
Wind gusts exceeding 80 mph have led to multiple closures and warnings, and created a high probability of damage in some residential areas.
Access to dry and secure self-storage can assist families during the clean-up and recovery process.
“We are a longstanding member of these communities and want to step up and help when the need arises,” said Rusty Freeze, U-Haul Company of West Texas president. “For any of our neighbors affected by these windstorms who could benefit from a month of free storage services, just give us a call.”
The Company’s disaster relief program applies to new self-storage and U-Box rentals and is based on availability. The 30 days offer for use of U-Box portable containers is limited to on-site storage at U-Haul facilities.
