U-Haul Offers Flood Relief across Greater Cincinnati and Louisville

Apr 9, 2025

U-Haul® is offering 30 days of free self-storage and U-Box® container usage at 21 facilities in southwest Ohio, northern Kentucky and southern Indiana to residents impacted by severe flooding in the region.

The Ohio River crested above 60 feet due to recent storms, the highest it has been since 2018, causing floodwaters to affect nearby properties. Additional flooding has occurred in cities from the runoff of other rivers and rainfall totals.

Access to dry and secure self-storage rooms and portable storage containers can be vital to communities recovering from a natural disaster.

“We’ve had customers coming into our stores to rent trucks due to the flooding, and we want to provide a dry and secure self-storage solution at no cost for one month to assist in the safekeeping of people’s belongings,” stated Mark Quinn, U-Haul Company of Cincinnati president. “As a longstanding member of these communities, our goal is to help our neighbors whenever possible.”

The 30 days free offer applies to new self-storage and U-Box rentals and is based on availability. The U-Box portable container offer is for on-site storage at Company centers. People seeking more information on the disaster relief program or needing to arrange storage services should contact the nearest participating U-Haul location:
