U-Haul Offers Disaster Relief to Central Illinois Storm Victims

U-Haul® is extending 30 days of free self-storage and U-Box® container usage at six centers across central Illinois and western Indiana to residents affected by severe weather that hit the region.

Storms packing high winds swept through several counties in central Illinois on Wednesday, damaging properties and leaving thousands without power.

Springfield and Jacksonville were among the cities impacted. Multiple tornado warnings were issued, including one for a twister that touched down near Paris along the eastern Illinois border that caused damage.

Access to dry and secure self-storage and portable storage containers can be essential to communities during the clean-up and recovery process after natural disasters.

The 30 days free offer applies to new self-storage and U-Box rentals and is based on availability. The U-Box portable container offer is for on-site storage at Company centers.
