U-Haul® is offering 30 days of free self-storage and U-Box® container use at seven facilities in New Brunswick and one store in Newfoundland and Labrador for people escaping the wildfires and needing a secure place to bring their belongings.
Three out-of-control wildfires are burning across New Brunswick, including the Irishtown fire near Moncton that has put several communities at risk. More than 130 firefighters have been deployed in the province.
The out-of-control Thomas Pond fire that started Monday has already prompted evacuation orders for some residents of Conception Bay South and Paradise in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Access to self-storage rooms and portable storage containers is essential to communities dealing with natural disasters.
The 30 days free offer applies to new self-storage and U-Box rentals and is based on availability. The U-Box portable container offer is for on-site storage at Company centers.
