U-Haul Offers 30 Days Free Storage and U-Box to Florida Flood Victims

May 18, 2016

U-Haul Company of Eastern Florida is offering 30 days free self-storage and U-Box container usage to residents of Fort Pierce, Vero Beach, Port Saint Lucie and surrounding areas who have been affected by the ongoing flooding and tornado damage stemming from Tuesday’s storms.

Portions of Florida have taken on significant water with the chance for continued rain throughout the week. Additional storms could cause more home and property damage, creating the need for storage options.

“U-Haul has been serving customers for more than 70 years, so when our communities face difficult times, we stand behind them,” said Cal Conner, U-Haul Company of Eastern Florida president. “The flooding in some areas has been up to 11 inches. There was a tornado that touched down and caused damage to trailers and RVs in Lakewood Park. People can use a dry, safe and secure facility to store their belongings at times like these.”
