U-Haul Offers 30 Days Free Self-Storage as Florida Readies for Hermine

Six U-Haul Companies are offering 30 days of free self-storage and U-Box container usage over a wide area of Northern Florida and the Gulf Coast as residents prepare for Tropical Storm Hermine, which could become Hurricane Hermine by the time it makes landfall.

Portions of Florida have already taken on water from ongoing tropical storms and other counties in the path of Hermine are facing mandatory evacuations, creating the need for safe, secure and dry self-storage options where people can stow their possessions.

“U-Haul is here to serve our communities and help families during times of disaster and severe weather conditions,” U-Haul Company of Jacksonville president Shalon Lillard said. “We can provide secure self-storage units at no charge for 30 days to those who are affected by the storms.”

The U-Haul Companies of Clearwater, Gainesville, Jacksonville, Tallahassee, Tampa and Western Florida have made 44 self-storage facilities across 19 cities available to provide assistance.
