U-Haul Company of Mississippi is offering 30 days of free self-storage and U-Box container usage to residents who stand to be impacted by heavy rains and flooding associated with Subtropical Storm Alberto.
Alberto is expected to make landfall along the Gulf Coast on Monday and Mississippi is preparing for tropical storm-force winds and surge flooding.
“Mississippi is preparing for a state of emergency and Governor Bryant has authorized the use of the National Guard,” U-Haul Company of Mississippi president Dick Porter said. “We are expecting large amounts of rain and want to be able to support our community if things take a turn (for the worse). Our neighbors will be able to keep their belongings safe, secure and dry for 30 days at no cost.”
