U-Haul Offers 30 Days Free Self-Storage after Sun Prairie Tragedy

U-Haul Company of Southwestern Wisconsin and Rockford is offering 30 days of free self-storage to Sun Prairie residents affected by the natural gas explosion on July 10.

Multiple downtown buildings were damaged or destroyed by the blast. Sun Prairie Fire Department Capt. Cory Barr lost his life in the explosion while working to help evacuate the area.

“Cory Barr was a beloved member of this community. This has been a devastating time in Sun Prairie,” said Adam Sonnleitner, U-Haul Company of Southwestern Wisconsin and Rockford president. “The destruction has also displaced about 500 people in the city center.

“As a caring and concerned business partner, we want to make sure our neighbors in Sun Prairie have a secure place to store their belongings.”
