U-Haul® is proactively offering 30 days of free self-storage and U-Box® container usage to North Carolina and Virginia residents forecasted to be in the path of Tropical Storm Bertha.
Potential flooding and strong winds are expected to impact a wide area as the storm moves north.
“We encourage these communities to prepare for the storm by taking advantage of our free self-storage disaster relief program,” said Jeffrey Messenger, U-Haul Company of Southern Virginia president. “We want to ensure our neighbors have a dry, secure place to store their belongings.”

U-Haul offered one month of free self-storage on March 12 to college students whose school schedules were interrupted by COVID-19. That offer is ongoing across the U.S. and Canada.
As an essential service provider, U-Haul remains open to meet the needs of customers and communities.
