U-Haul® is offering 60 days of free self-storage and U-Box® container usage to New Bedford residents who have been impacted by the fire on Brook Street.
The fire affected several industrial buildings on the street, including a storage facility and a tire shop.
“In order to help our neighbors keep their items safe and secure, U-Haul is offering a free place for their possessions for two months,” said Stoyan Kovachev, U-Haul Company of Southern Massachusetts and Cape Cod president. “We’re a strong member of this community and want to be there for those who need a storage unit or U-Box container for their belongings.”
Customers needing cardboard boxes can utilize the in-store Take a Box, Leave a Box program. U-Haul offers an area where customers can drop off used boxes in good condition, and others can access the boxes at no cost. U-Haul encourages anyone who has reusable boxes to drop them at the nearest U-Haul store location for this purpose.
