PHOENIX – The 22nd Annual Beach Ball, held on February 28th, was a huge success. More than 1,000 guests gathered in the Grand Ballroom at The Phoenician resort for a fun-filled backyard barbeque. Guests at the beach-themed gala, The Lemonade Soirée, traded in their suits and gowns for beach attire to benefit Phoenix Children’s Hospital. As one of the Valley’s most unique galas, U‑Haul was glad to lend a helping hand!
U-Haul donated an 18-foot truck to the Beach Ball gala to assist with the many trips made to and from The Phoenician. The U-Haul truck was used for transporting setup supplies, auction items, materials, and also was useful during cleanup as well.
This one-of-a-kind event raised more than $1.2 million to benefit the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, the largest pediatric program of its kind in Arizona. This program provides complete care to children diagnosed with malignancies and hematologic disease.
The Beach Ball has been an important fundraiser for Phoenix Children’s Hospital. With the assistance of Beach Ball attendees and sponsors over the past 22 years, more than $13.5 million has been raised to support families in need.
While each Beach Ball gala is different, each one celebrates the patients and families who have turned “lemons into lemonade” in their own experiences with cancer. After the program, guests showed off their dance moves and even took a turns trying to limbo!
It’s safe to say that everyone had a ball at this year’s 22nd Annual Beach Ball!
