The Month of the Lion, Lamb and HVAC

Mar 23, 2015

The month of March has already come in like a lion with rough and cold weather throughout some parts of the nation. However, it’s expected to be going out like a lamb with blue skies and warmer temperatures. For these reasons the month of March is an important point in the year when it comes to heating, ventilation and air condition (HVAC). During the winter many are using various types heating systems to keep their building warm. As we approach the final days of March we HVAC units on U-Haul rooftopbegin preparing to switch from heating systems to cooling systems. Depending on where you live, there are some areas that will get warm afternoon temperatures this month that require quickly switching to the building’s cooling system(s). Before transitioning from heating to cooling it is best to check and test your A/C system(s) to ensure it is running efficiently and to avoid any potential damage. Preparation is the key!

At U-Haul, many of our centers utilize multiple HVAC systems to provide climate controlled storage for their customers. Because climate controlled storage is a product that can demand large amounts of energy, we are using our best efforts to be energy-efficient and reduce consumption. And due to the high demand of energy we strive to use quality HVAC equipment with high SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) that U-Haul Climate Controlled Storageallows us to keep building temperatures at the desired level by using the least amount of energy as possible. Additionally as existing HVAC systems become inefficient (or broken), which coincidentally can occur often in the month of March, U-Haul centers are preemptive and replace their HVAC with new energy efficient systems.

By keeping HVAC systems running efficiently and working, U-Haul provides customers a comfortable atmosphere when visiting our centers as well as ideal temperatures to keep their products in storage safe. In doing so U-Haul maintains its commitment to saving energy and ensuring our consumption is not misused and continues to be efficient. When energy is saved there is a reduction in costs, allowing more opportunity for U-Haul to meet customer expectations by providing the best service and best product at the lowest.

What are you doing to prepare for the warm weather? Let us know in the comments below!
