What’s the story behind all those fun facts on the sides of our trucks? Are U-Haul team members just exceptionally good at trivia? Not at all… well at least most of us aren’t. There is actually a very good reason for the colorful pictures and interesting tidbits you find plastered on our vehicles. Here’s the scoop.
The Supergraphics program first began back in 1988 as a way to pay homage to the two countries that made U-Haul what it is today; the United States and Canada. There is at least one Supergraphic for each state and province which represents something unique or historic about that place. Although the newer ones have facts associated with them, the older Supergraphics consisted of just a picture. Before you start to feel bad for the older ones, just remember: a picture is worth a thousand words! With over 250 different Supergraphics created to date, that’s a lot to think about.
Another important aspect of the Supergraphics program is education. Whether we are growing awareness of the endangered Sandhill Crane, exploring the mysteries within Area 51, or showing that some fossils come from ridiculously cute pandas; we want people to be able to learn something new from our Supergraphics.
