This year’s Migration Trends Report is out and at No. 2, we have the Windy City,  Chicago, Illinois. This city is known to the locals at Chi-Town. This beautiful city is known for the infamous deep-dish pizza, windy weather and beautiful skyline vi We asked our movers to share with us their moving experience. Check out their moving stories through #UhaulFamous photos below:

“We moved this family from their apartment to their father’s first home that he bought in Chicago. Don’t worry, I didn’t let the two little boys drive the truck. Mr. Mario Casadero had helped my spouse and I rehab an extremely distressed house in the West Humboldt Park area of Chicago that we purchased 2 years ago.  Mario had lived with his wife and 3 boys and his brothers family in a 2 bedroom basement apartment in Chicago for 10 years and finally succeeded in purchasing a 2-flat building (also very distressed) in the West Garfield Park neighborhood of Chicago last October.  Since Mario, nor his wife, speak any english, they had asked me to help them setting up virtually every aspect of their family’s move into their very first home, including electric, gas, alarm, water, exterminator, homeowners insurance, and transportation.  I had to arrange for the truck rental and drive the truck because they don’t have their drivers licenses.  The 2 youngest boys were sitting in the cab of the truck with me while Mario and his brothers loaded the contents of their 2 bedroom apartment into the truck.  I couldn’t resist taking a picture of the little boys in your U-Haul truck as their family made this life-changing move into their very first home.  I am amazed at how hard working the millions of undocumented Mexicans, like Mario’s family, are despite the overwhelming obstacles that they are confronted with.  This is why I don’t even blink when Mario asks me for help.”  – Jon Peterson
