What Team members are thankful for this Thanksgiving

Nov 23, 2015

Thanksgiving is the perfect time of the year to acknowledge all of the things we are so lucky to have in our lives. For some of us it’s something as simple as having stayed healthy throughout the year. For others, it might be some incredible opportunity that they’ve had. For many of us, Thanksgiving is the time to be grateful for our friends and families. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, U-Haul Team members took the time to think about what they are particularly thankful for this year:

“I am thankful for my wife, our two wonderful dogs, and our cozy little house. I’m also thankful for the great team of people I work with, always full of surprises! I’m looking forward to hanging out with my family, winning at a few board games, and eating my favorite meal of the year: turkey dinner with tons of stuffing!” – Timothy Armstrong, Social Media Support Specialist

“This year I am truly thankful for my friends and family; I couldn’t have made it through the year without them. I learned what it means to lose my favorite person in the world, and that made me realize how precious life really is. On a lighter note, my favorite tradition is late at night on thanksgiving, sitting on the kitchen counter with my sister, eating as much leftover turkey as we can.” – Skye Schooley, Digital Marketing & Consumer Experience Intern

“I am most thankful for my friends and family. They are so supportive and bring so much joy to my life!
This thanksgiving I am looking forward for some fun, relaxation and time with people I love.
My favorite thanksgiving tradition is making my great grandma’s pies every year with my family.” – Crystal Heuft, Social Media Specialist

“I’m thankful for family and close friends. I am looking forward to spending time with my family for Thanksgiving and continuing our family tradition where we all come together under one roof, share laughs and have a blast cooking up a delicious meal. Many hands, one heart beat or in this case one feast. I’m also thankful for the U-Haul moving boxes which are so sturdy and can last up to 4 moves. I used my U-Haul boxes twice, personally, and when my friend needed to move, I provided her my boxes she can re-use which helped her save money in the end.” – Alison Antone, Customer Service Agent

“My favorite Thanksgiving tradition is waking up and watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. Even as a grown man I still get the sense of wonderment and joy from watching the floats and marching bands. This year we are also starting a new tradition. To try to stop everyone from leaving after dinner to go stand in-line for sales to start, we’ve decided to have everyone help decorate the Christmas tree before the pie is served. I am most thankful for a team at work that energizes and challenges me to stay at the top of my game. Doing meaningful work in support of a great squad is a real treat.” – Ryan Glass, Digital Marketing & Consumer Experience Program Manager

“I’m thankful for the people in my life. At work, I get to work alongside a great team! We get our work done and have a good time doing it. In my personal life, family and friends are important. I’m grateful to have them in my life and look forward to enjoying this Thanksgiving season with them.” – Paige Eagles, Social Media Specialist

“Every year I look around at what is going on in the world and the people I have in my life and I realize how lucky I am. Right now I am so thankful to my mom for supporting me all these years, especially as I near the end of my college career this coming month. I am also extremely thankful for the friends I have right now, both new and old. This Thanksgiving I look forward to going home and seeing my mom because it will be my first Thanksgiving home since high school and my first holiday home since my father passed away. It’ll be nice to celebrate a lot of the big changes that have happened lately with her and let her know how grateful I am for all she does.” – Emily Schilling, Digital Marketing & Consumer Experience Intern

“It’s all about the 3 F’s! Family, Football, Food. I am truly thankful that I have a healthy family and am able to spend the time with them and my extended family this year.” – Ken Schneider, Digital Marketing & Consumer Experience Program Manager

All in all, I think it’s safe to say that our team members are pretty thankful for one another and the support that they all receive as a part of the U-Haul Family.
