Volunteers Jump into the New Year

Jan 22, 2016

Team U-Haul VolunteersFifteen U-Haul Team Members gathered at Flip Dunk Sports on Jan. 16th in Phoenix, Ariz., to spend several fun-filled hours with children from Child Crisis Arizona, formerly Crisis Nursery Children’s Shelter.

It was the first of the monthly volunteer days U-Haul has scheduled in 2016 to benefit the Greater Phoenix community, which serves as home to U-Haul International, Inc.

Child Crisis is the Valley’s longest-serving children’s shelter and has provided a safe haven for more than 20,000 children through child-centered and family-focused programs and services. All of Child Crisis programs support the mission of breaking the cycle of child abuse and neglect.

The group of children partnered with U-Haul volunteers enjoyed the chance to jump around at the indoor trampoline park at Flip Dunk Sports. The children and adults got a good workout as they jumped, tumbled and even played a few games of trampoline ‘tag’.

A basketball hoop in one area of the trampoline parked proved to be a competitive palace as the children tried to shoot soft basketballs over Team U-Haul volunteers all while jumping around.

After bouncing off the walls, literally, the volunteers and children ventured towards the party room to enjoy a pizza lunch! Child Crisis children, staff and U-Haul volunteers enjoyed talking about the neat tricks and games that were played throughout the morning over lunch. The children were happy and volunteers happily exhausted.

U-Haul Company would like to say thank you to the volunteers who gave their time and made a difference in the life of the children from Child Crisis.
