U-Haul Customer Writes Poetic Review

HARRISBURG, Pa.—With almost 100 equipment rentals under his belt, Rick Shaver is much more than a “regular” customer at U-Haul Moving and Storage of Harrisburg. He’s practically part of the team … which might explain the poetic review he wrote.

“A while back, the team here told me that they read their reviews out loud during their meetings,” Shaver recalled. “I rent from there a lot, so I get requests to review U-Haul pretty frequently, and one rainy Saturday, I decided I was going to write something really fun. I thought to myself, ‘I’m going to knock their socks off this week.’”

Shaver succeeded with his slightly embellished poetic review modeled after the famous holiday classic, “’Twas the Night Before Christmas.”

‘Twas the night before moving, and all through the house, everything was disheveled, including my spouse.

Her eyes wide and wondering, to what to do next. Her heart began racing; her mind was perplexed.

Our movers had canceled, I didn’t know why. The truck became broken; the help costs, too high.

I sprang to my cellphone, and what did appear? A shiny orange truck with a trailer in rear.

Our boxes all fit. The couch was a breeze! The guys—all fantastic—supplied all our needs.

Boxes and labels to hand trucks and hitches, the guys were so helpful it left me in stitches.

I jumped in the truck, all shiny and cleaned. My wife, now so happy; the kids’ faces beamed.

My neighbors all waved as I drove out of sight, happy moving to all. With U-Haul, that’s right!

Shaver has been running his own flooring business for 33 years and frequently uses U-Haul trucks and trailers to transport supplies.

Customer Leaves Poetic Review“I’ve been renting from U-Haul for at least 10 years or longer,” Shaver noted. “Occasionally, I have jobs that require more than I can carry in my van. I rent trailers quite often. Recently, I’ve been using your pickup trucks as well.”

“Rick is basically an honorary team member here,” mentioned General Manager (GM) Justin Garner. “He’ll come in and shoot the breeze with us even when he’s not scheduled to pick up or drop off equipment.”

After a decade, Shaver has seen some changes at the Harrisburg location.

“I’ve seen some new faces over the years, but I think Justin is doing a really great job,” Shaver praised. “One thing I really appreciate is that everyone at the store gets along really well. The team seems to be very well trained, and the equipment is always well maintained and clean.”

Part of the family

Though the Harrisburg Team has formed a strong friendship with Shaver, they do their absolute best to treat every customer with the same respect and courtesy.

“We look at everyone who comes in as family,” Garner asserted. “Every customer deserves the best we can do and is treated the same way.”

As leaders in the do-it-yourself moving industry, U-Haul Team members are trained to be experts in their field. This training enables team members to offer the highest level of service to our customers. And, our teams know they are on the right track when customers like Shaver write such a poetic review.

“People are coming to us for help, so they deserve the best that we can give them,” Garner declared. “If you can help customers understand our services, products and equipment, then you can help them be comfortable with their move and their decision to choose U-Haul.”
