U-Haul Expands 30 Days Free Self-Storage Offer to More Help in the Carolinas

More U-Haul Companies in the Carolinas are offering 30 days of free self-storage and U-Box storage container usage to residents who have been affected by the flooding from Hurricane Irma.

Now a tropical storm, Irma has delivered severe flooding to parts of the Carolinas. Thousands of residents are without power.

“Many residents are coming home to rain and wind damage,” U-Haul Company of Western North Carolina president Doug Weston said. “As a responsible corporate citizen and a member of these communities, U-Haul vows to help by providing 30 days of free self-storage to our affected neighbors.”

The U-Haul Companies of Western North Carolina, Central North Carolina and Raleigh have made 15 self-storage facilities across 11 cities available to provide assistance.

On Monday, the U-Haul Companies of South Carolina and Coastal South Carolina extended the same disaster relief offer at seven locations in four cities. Find that press release here.

Irma Disaster Relief: U-Haul Offers 30 Days Free Self-Storage in South Carolina

U-Haul Companies in South Carolina are offering 30 days of free self-storage and U-Box storage container usage to residents who have been affected by the flooding associated with Hurricane Irma.

Now a tropical storm, Irma has delivered severe flooding to parts of the Palmetto State. Thousands of residents are without power, and water has exceeded the levels seen during Hurricane Matthew last year.

“Many residents have been forced to evacuate and a state of emergency has been declared,” said Elijah Mack, U-Haul Company of Coastal South Carolina president. “As a member of these communities, U-Haul pledges to help by providing 30 days of free self-storage to our neighbors affected by the storm.”
