Lilac Fire and Liberty Fire Victims: U-Haul Offers 30 Days Free Self-Storage

Dec 8, 2017

U-Haul Company of Oceanside is offering 30 days of free self-storage to Southern Californians who have been or will be impacted by the Lilac Fire or Liberty Fire.

Firefighters in Southern California are currently battling six major blazes. The two newest fires are burning in San Diego County and Riverside County. Crews expect the high winds to continue throughout the weekend, fanning the flames and affecting more residents in these areas.

The Lilac Fire, Liberty Fire and other blazes have created a need for Californians, and particularly evacuees, to stow their valuables and other belongings in a secure facility.

“The strong wind gusts are continuing to make this battle tougher for our first responders,” said Travis Cochran-Kilman, U-Haul Company of Oceanside president. “Many of our neighbors are in harm’s way and need help. We want to offer them a safe place to bring their possessions at no charge for 30 days.”
