Carr Fire Evacuees: U-Haul Offering 30 Days of Free Self-Storage

Jul 27, 2018

Four U-Haul Companies across the Pacific Northwest are offering 30 days of free self-storage and U-Box container usage to residents affected by the Carr Fire in Shasta County.

Dozens of homes have been destroyed and thousands of residents have been ordered to evacuate.

“The Carr Fire has engulfed more than 44,000 acres so far and our brave firefighters are having a hard time getting it contained,” stated Chris Watson, U-Haul Company of Northwest California president. “Thousands of people have been forced to leave their homes. As a caring member of these communities, we want to offer a secure place for them to store their belongings at no charge for one month.”

U-Haul Companies of Northwestern California, Southern Washington, Southern Oregon and Western Oregon have made eight facilities across six cities available to offer the 30 days free disaster relief assistance program.
