Work-Life Balance Rankings: U-Haul Among Top Companies

Oct 10, 2018

U-Haul® is one of the “Best Companies for Work-Life Balance” in the U.S., according to a national survey by Comparably.

Comparably.com, a site that solicits employee feedback for the purpose of portraying company cultures and employer brands, ranks U-Haul No. 8 among all large companies for providing employees the best work-life balance – a leading predictor of employee happiness.

U-Haul is among the leaders in work-life balance

U-Haul is the lone Arizona company on the top 25 list for large or small/midsize companies. Visit uhaul.com/jobs to search U-Haul careers.

Flexibility is Important

“From the flexibility of our work-from-home jobs to encouraging healthier lifestyles, our goal is to create an environment that allows Team Members to become the best version of themselves,” U-Haul Chief of Staff Jessica Lopez states.

“We understand the importance that family time, a social life and good health can play in having a happy, energized and productive Team Member. It truly is a balance. Having U-Haul recognized by its Team Members as a leader in establishing that work-life balance is a credit to what we’re doing at a company that has been serving the public since 1945.”

More Winners

Comparably’s lists for companies with the best work-life balance and the best perks and benefits were shared by Inc.com. Starbucks® ranks first for work-life balance in the large company category, while Facebook® receives top billing for perks and benefits.

Rankings come from online polls of visitors to Comparably.com.

“This set of Comparably Awards focuses on companies that most reward their employees,” said Jason Nazar, CEO of Comparably. “These employers stand out as the best of the best providing amazing benefits and great work-life balance to foster some of the happiest employees in the United States.”

Impressive Numbers

U-Haul employs 30,733 Team Members across the U.S. and Canada, as well as 3,978 in Arizona.

Finally, about 5,000 Team Members participated on Sept. 22 in the third annual U-Haul Active Day. This is one of the Company’s many “Healthier U” programs and events to improve employee wellness, happiness and productivity through healthier lifestyles.

U-Haul is one of the Valley’s healthiest workplaces, and also among the most veteran-friendly employers. It will soon be building a state-of-the-art conference and fitness center on its Midtown Phoenix campus for Team Member use.
