U-Haul Expands Free Self-Storage Offer to Louisiana for Hurricane Michael

Oct 12, 2018

U-Haul Company of Southern Louisiana is now offering 30 days of free self-storage to residents who have been affected by the extreme winds and rains associated with Hurricane Michael. The offer is being extended at 14 facilities across nine cities in Louisiana.

The storm struck the Gulf Coast on Wednesday, packing winds well in excess of 100 mph. An estimated 1.4 million residences have lost power and countless homes have sustained damage.

“Many families in this area have condos, summer homes and family members in the Florida panhandle area,” U-Haul Company of Southern Louisiana president Patrick Allen said. “I have made every store in my region available to offer our free self-storage disaster relief program to those in need.”

On Monday, the U-Haul Companies of Atlanta West, Tallahassee, South Alabama and Western North Carolina extended the same disaster relief offer at 28 locations across 12 cities. Find that release here.

U-Haul facilities in the Wiregrass region of southern Alabama and the Albany region of southern Georgia joined in extending the offer on Thursday.
