U-Haul Supports Dinnertime Heroes Program at Ronald McDonald House

Jul 7, 2020

As the world adjusts to changes due to COVID-19, non-profit organizations are feeling the effects. Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central and Northern Arizona, a U-Haul charity partner, is no exception.

Despite these challenging times, the Ronald McDonald House team has remained hopeful and positive. They continue to focus on the health and wellness of the families staying there, while creating a loving, safe and caring environment.

“Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central and Northern Arizona is open and continues to serve families. Sadly, pediatric illness doesn’t stop during moments of crisis, and we are proud to provide families with a sense of comfort and stability in their already challenging lives,” explained Kerry Schulman, CEO of the Central and Northern Arizona chapter.

Dinnertime Heroes

Team U-Haul volunteers were scheduled to prepare and serve dinner at the Ronald McDonald House. But due to RMHC policies limiting exposure with outside guests during COVID-19, U-Haul chose to donate to the Dinnertime Heroes Program on behalf of its Team Members.

This donation will provide dinner for all families residing at RMHC while they seek medical treatment for their children. U-Haul looks forward to serving these families in-person in the future.

“Although our day-to-day looks different, we still feel the outpouring warmth and support of our community through various acts of love,” Schulman said. “Our Dinnertime Heroes deliver warm meals to families; love notes provide words of strength and encouragement; supplies ensure health and safety; and donations provide more nights of rest to those in need.”

U-Haul is proud to join others in the community who are continuing to lend a helping hand.

“Steadfast supporters like U-Haul have remained by our side so that we can continue to give families what they need most right now – each other. We are forever grateful,” Schulman added.
