Kristin Bailey Promoted to Director of Moving Help

May 15, 2023

Kristin Bailey has held several U-Haul titles during her seven years with the Company. They have included program manager for Moving Help and Risk Management. Now Bailey is taking on a new challenge at U-Haul headquarters in Phoenix: Director of Moving Help.

“My history in Risk Management and Moving Help has shown me firsthand that U-Haul customers and field teams come first,” Bailey said. “It has given me an immense appreciation for what our Team Members go through daily. It’s a priority for me to assist those who serve our customers.”

Bailey began moonlighting as a real-time scheduling coordinator for the U-Haul Contact Center in 2016. She quickly learned what it means to bleed orange.

“I was struggling to find a job that could both fulfill and support me, but then I was lucky enough to discover U-Haul and the variety of opportunities available to me,” Bailey said.

“I’ve had some integral guidance over the years. David LoPresti (former Director of Moving Help and now Director of the U-Haul App) is a shining example of a leader, rather than just a boss, who encouraged me, pushed me and ultimately allowed me to create my own path to success.”

Moving Help is an online marketplace, operated by U-Haul, where people can find, price and hire local independent moving labor – with verified customer reviews and ratings to provide guidance. Moving Help Service Providers offer services such as loading and unloading, packing and unpacking, and cleaning.

Paving the way

“When Kristin joined the team, I was immediately impressed by her ability to dive headfirst into every aspect of the Moving Help program,” LoPresti said. “Kristin excels at every task. She approaches her work from an empathetic perspective and a willingness to push forward. Kristin wants to see others succeed and grow. She’s helped make Moving Help a more effective team. I am truly proud to see her step into this role and make it her own.”

In the four years Bailey worked with LoPresti, she developed many of the skills and strategies necessary to be a leader.

“I have big shoes to fill,” Bailey noted. “But I’m excited and truly grateful to work with such a phenomenal team while continuing to grow the Moving Help program.”

Added U-Haul President John “J.T.” Taylor: “Kristin brings a sales- and people-oriented approach to her new position. I believe Kristin demonstrates the leadership qualities, commitment, determination and vision to further evolve and develop the Moving Help program. She is fortunate to have a strong foundation upon which to build, and I am confident in her ability to do just that.”
