The Best Selfies of 2014

Dec 31, 2014

When it comes to words used in 2014, “selfie” is definitely one to note. We’ve all seen the duck or sparrow faces, the #NoFilter and even the #SelfieSunday. If sharing your best selfies with your friends isn’t enough, some people took it a step further and shared their photos across North America!

#Uhaulfamous

If you’ve been living under a rock and haven’t heard of the U-Haul’s #uhaulfamous, your missing out! This program allows anyone and everyone to submit their moving memory in the form of a photo via Instagram using #uhaulfamous or online at uhaulfamous.com. Photos can be recent or even vintage photos from your past experiences. These pictures are then showcased on the sides of our special edition U-Haul trucks. Those who’ve become #uhaulfamous can then track the truck that their photo(s) are on and see their face in the limelight!

Types of Selfies

This year we really enjoyed the submissions from our customers, team members and their families. We’ve seen a little bit of everything- pictures that have made us laugh, feel nostalgic and ones that have even inspired us. Some of the out-of-the-box pictures we saw were: clever, GoPro, and Inception selfies. Some clever pictures that we’ve seen and love have to do with proper placement- as you can see in one of our favorites below, it looks like our friend is actually touching our Supergraphic’s Champ the Lake Monster! The GoPro selfie offers a fun perspective that really allows you to capture more of your surroundings- making for a fun photo! Another type is what we like to call the Inception selfie. This type of selfie requires you to submit one photo, track down the truck it’s on, and take a selfie next to it! It can take a little bit more effort, but the finished product is definitely worth it!

Without further ado, here are the best selfies of 2014:
