There is something truly unique about U-Haul.
It’s not just the countless orange-clad trucks and creative SuperGraphics that can be spotted on interstates and backroads, making moving easier for customers in big cities and small towns alike throughout the U.S. and Canada. It’s the people who comprise U-Haul – the faces behind the equipment and services on which so many depend – that make our Company special.
Would you be interested in joining our team? Here are five reasons why working at U-Haul may be perfect for you or someone you know. And be sure to check below for details on the latest U-Haul job fair and visit jobs.uhaul.com for details on positions in other areas.
- We Are Family: As Sister Sledge sang in 1979, “We are family, get up everybody and sing.” As a family-owned and -operated business for more than 70 years, U-Haul takes pride in making Team Members and their families a priority. There is a harmony – pardon the pun – within the Company thanks to those who have been with us for 30, 40 or even 50 years. It’s not uncommon to see fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, siblings or entire families share in the U-Haul mission. If you fit into a family atmosphere where hard work and customer care are rewarded, we have just the place.
- Industry Leader: Since 1945, U-Haul has been breaking boundaries in the do-it-yourself moving and self-storage business. U-Haul co-founders L.S. “Sam” Shoen, a U.S. Navy veteran, and Anna Mary Carty Shoen recognized the need for one-way rental equipment and easy accessibility to become pioneers in the industry. Today, U-Haul manufactures and maintains the industry’s largest rental fleet of trucks and trailers in North America while also being the largest installer of trailer hitches in the automotive aftermarket industry and the largest retailer of propane in the U.S. With all of this innovation, work and responsibility, we are always seeking capable additions to our team.
- Compensation: Whatever position you seek – from software developer to store manager – know that U-Haul offers some of the most competitive compensation and benefits packages in the industry. In addition, U-Haul is committed to giving Team Members the opportunity to enjoy a healthy and active lifestyle. Fitness goals and classes, healthy eating options, recipe sharing and social wellness activities are some of the newer U-Haul healthy living initiatives.
- Community Outreach: U-Haul not only gives back to the communities where it serves, but it partners with charities that address people’s basic human needs of food, clothing and shelter. U-Haul works closely with organizations like the American Red Cross, St. Mary’s Food Bank, St. Vincent de Paul and Ronald McDonald House, giving our Team Members the chance to get involved in causes close to their hearts. U-Haul is honored to receive consistent recognition for its military support and status as one of the top veteran-friendly employers in U.S.
- Make a Difference: Moving can be one of the more stressful events in a person’s life. At U-Haul, our job is to minimize that stress with products and services that everyone can make use of at an affordable cost. In doing so, U-Haul strives to make a difference for our planet through sustainable practices. From our core truck- and trailer-sharing model and the adaptive reuse of old buildings for new U-Haul stores to our biodegradable packing peanuts and furniture blankets made of recycled denim, we believe our efforts today can make for a better tomorrow.
