U-Haul 2016 Destination City No. 6: Las Vegas

May 19, 2017

Las Vegas ranks No. 6 on the U-Haul U.S. Destination Cities list for 2016, according to the latest U-Haul migration trends report.

Sin City saw a 6.3 percent drop in year-over-year arrivals, though it maintained its 2015 ranking as the sixth busiest U.S. city for incoming U-Haul trucks.

U-Haul Destination Cities are ranked according to the total number of arriving one-way U-Haul truck rentals to a city in the past calendar year. Destination Cities do not account for departing traffic and thus do not necessarily reflect growth like U-Haul Growth Cities. Destination Cities reflect the volume and regularity of do-it-yourself movers coming into a community.

“Las Vegas has really transformed into a family destination,” said Rick Faulk, U-Haul Company of Las Vegas East president. “Families are moving here because they understand that Las Vegas is a communal city.”

U-Haul has 10 Company-owned stores and 61 independent neighborhood dealers within the city limits, and also offers many more locations to fulfill the needs of suburbs outside Las Vegas. Find U-Haul truck and trailer sharing locations in Las Vegas at uhaul.com/locations.

In addition, Henderson has shared in the attraction of new residents to the area, having recently garnered the No. 7 spot on the list of top U-Haul U.S. Growth Cities for 2015.

U-Haul is the authority on migration trends thanks to its expansive network that blankets all 50 states and 10 Canadian provinces. The geographical coverage from more than 21,000 U-Haul locations provides a comprehensive overview of where people are moving like no one else in the industry. What They are Saying about Las Vegas

People are moving here because of our affordable housing and low cost of living. The lure of Las Vegas is as strong as ever.” — Mike Vargovich, U-Haul Company of Las Vegas West president.
