U-Haul Companies of Arkansas and Tulsa are making three facilities available to extend 30 days of free self-storage to residents impacted by flooding near the border town of Moffett, Okla., and the River Valley region.
“They’re going to open the dam there because it’s 40 feet above capacity. They’re evacuating the town of Moffett today,” stated Andrew Hicks, U-Haul Company of Arkansas president. “Tulsa just had 12 inches of rain and it overcame their dam. All this water has fed the Arkansas River.
“This situation has created an immediate need for self-storage in the region. As a caring member of these communities, we are offering our disaster relief program to those in need at no cost for one month.”
