U-Haul Recruiting Hosts ThrivePoint High School Students in Phoenix

Nov 1, 2024

The next generation of Arizona’s job seekers is brimming with potential. Future professionals, innovators and leaders are poised to fill big shoes.

At the U-Haul Midtown Campus in Phoenix, the Recruiting team is planning for tomorrow by targeting the state’s top young talent today.

On Oct. 17, Recruiting Project Coordinator Kat Miles welcomed students and staff from ThrivePoint High School for a tour of the U-Haul Midtown Campus and an inside glimpse of an international business leader with nearly 80 years of industry expertise.

Glowing feedback

The immersive experience introduced students to a wide scope of roles and fields at U-Haul while offering hands-on learning opportunities and interactive demonstrations — from field testing to hitch installations.

“The experiences were great,” one ThrivePoint student noted. “My favorite part was installing a hitch on the back of a car.”

“I loved seeing how U-Haul takes care of their team,” another student stated. “There are so many opportunities here that I didn’t know existed.”

U-Haul Recruiting explained that one’s passion can lead to a profession, showing students how their hobbies — be it social media, art or mechanics — can evolve into a fulfilling, profitable career through the Company’s numerous and diverse departments.

Behind the curtain

Furthermore, students got to see how the family culture for which U-Haul is celebrated translates to a strong network of support for the Company’s field teams and do-it-yourself customers across North America.

“The field trip was so great,” a ThrivePoint instructor shared. “I thought it would just be touring the corporate office and talking about how great U-Haul is. But it was way more than that. It was interactive for the students and promoted health and wellness, as well as gave them insight into resume-building and the hiring process.”

A second instructor added: “The students had no idea that U-Haul was more than moving trucks and storage units. Kat Miles did a great job keeping the students engaged and excited about working for U-Haul. I would definitely recommend this field trip again.”
