Tyler Farr Makes U-Haul a Little Bit Country

May 17, 2015

We’ve heard “Redneck Crazy” and “Whiskey in My Water”, but Tyler Farr really caught our ear with the new title track of his album “Suffer in Peace”. It’s a ballad about heartbreak and how sometimes getting over it is painful. Sometimes the best thing to do is pack up and move.

The lyrics go like this:

Girl you know I love this town, lived here all my life
Right up ‘til you left me, figured this would be where I’d die
Now I’m thinkin’ ‘bout a U-Haul, selling everything I can’t haul
Get a load of you off my chest move out west, maybe Utah

Tyler Farr 2His song definitely caught our attention, but Tyler Farr’s roots go deep as an avid supporter of the U.S. Military. Back in Christmas 2014, Farr went with a Navy tour to Djibouti, Africa then Bahrain in the Persian Gulf. This tour allowed Farr to see an inside look of the goings on of our servicemen and women oversees; he professed that it was “a life changer experience.”

As many people know, U-Haul was founded by a veteran. Here at U-Haul we are proud to support our servicemen and women through various projects, notably, Wounded Warrior Project and our initiative to hire military veterans.

Coming up later this month, Farr will be headlining at a Memorial Day benefit concert, Boots on the Beach. This concert supports The Boot Campaign- a campaign “promoting patriotism for America and the military community. It “raises awareness of the unique challenges service members face during and post-service.”

This chance encounter with Tyler Farr, through the words of his powerful song, allows us to share in our honor of servicemen and women current and past.
