U-Haul Offers 30 Days Free Self-Storage to Tornado Victims in Midwest

Mar 6, 2017

Three U-Haul Companies are offering 30 days of free self-storage and U-Box container usage over a wide area of the Midwest to residents who have been or will be impacted by the recent swell of tornadoes and damaging thunderstorms.

Multiple tornadoes ripped through the Midwest on Tuesday and more storm damage is expected today.

“These storms are damaging homes and businesses all over the Midwest,” U-Haul Company of Illinois president Aaron Freeman said. “Cars are being tossed in the air, trees are being uprooted and several people have lost their lives.

“U-Haul is part of these communities and we are here to help families during times of disaster and severe weather. We are happy to offer self-storage units to those affected who need a safe and secure place for their belongings.”

The U-Haul Companies of Illinois, Iowa and Missouri have six self-storage facilities available to provide assistance. Families needing more information about the 30 days’ disaster relief program should contact the following U-Haul store nearest you:

U-Haul stores offer needed supplies to help with storm recovery like boxes, tarps, propane and propane tanks. U-Haul urges customers to ensure their tanks are topped off since propane is good to have in the event of long-term power outages.
