Volunteers Needed for Angels’ Night in Detroit

Angels' Night

Instead of dressing up as an angel for Halloween, why not be one? Angels’ Night is a volunteer program organized by the city of Detroit to help reduce the number of crimes during Halloween—specifically arson. Help keep the city of Detroit safe by volunteering for Angels’ Night this Monday, October 29 through Wednesday, October 31.

To help keep Detroit safe, the city will have an emergency curfew in place from 6 p.m. To 6 a.m. this Monday through Wednesday. All minors (under the age of 18) are to be accompanied by an adult during those hours.

The city is asking metro Detroiters to help out by patrolling their neighborhoods, keeping an eye on abandoned buildings, and turning on exterior lights. Participating residents should wear an orange ribbon to show their support.

The city of Detroit’s recreation department will also be hosting Angels’ Night parties at recreation centers on Halloween, as well as a few other evenings this week.
